A personal injury claim is your pathway to recovering compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and other expenses that arise after an accident. Whether you’re dealing with the aftermath of a car accident, truck accident, motorcycle accident, slip and fall, dog bite, or even medical malpractice, understanding your rights is the first step toward protecting your future.

Navigating the legal process can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re focused on your physical recovery. That’s where an experienced personal injury lawyer comes in. When choosing a personal injury attorney, look for a proven track record in cases similar to yours and a commitment to pursuing full and fair compensation. The right legal team will handle negotiations with insurance companies, gather evidence, and build a strong case on your behalf—so you can focus on healing.

Injured? Let Us Take the Pressure Off

If you’ve been hurt and don’t know what to do next, My Injury Pros is ready to step in. After a physical injury or catastrophic injuries, it is crucial to seek prompt medical treatment—not only for your health, but also to strengthen your claim. Emotional distress can also be a significant part of your case, and compensation may be available for both physical and mental suffering. Whether your personal injury case involves a motorcycle accident, a work-related injury, or a rideshare collision, our personal injury lawyers are here to protect your rights and fight for the recovery you deserve. To establish liability, it must be shown that the other party owed a duty of care, breached that duty, and caused harm as a result.

Don’t Let Insurance Companies Control Your Outcome

After an accident, the insurance company’s goal is to protect their bottom line, not your recovery. They delay, lowball, and push you to settle fast for less than you deserve. At My Injury Pros, we step in early to protect your rights and your financial future. Our personal injury attorneys know how to push back and make your case count.

Your attorney will handle all communications with the party's insurance company and is experienced in pursuing compensation through negotiation or, if necessary, litigation. If negotiations with the insurance company fail, your attorney may need to file a lawsuit in civil court to pursue compensation.

How We Protect Your Case:

We Handle the Heavy Lifting

You don’t need to stress over phone calls, documents, or follow-ups. We take care of the details while you focus on healing.

We Build a Case That Demands Justice

Our team gathers strong evidence and holds the insurance company accountable for every dollar they owe.

We Take Action Fast

The moment you hire us, we move quickly to secure your claim and prevent mistakes that cost you compensation.

We Fight for Maximum Recovery

Whether it’s medical bills, lost income, or ongoing care, we work to recover the full value of your claim.

They have legal teams trying to pay you less. You deserve a team that fights to win your case.

Your Case Deserves a Strategy Built to Win

No two accidents are the same, and you deserve more than a one-size-fits-all approach. At My Injury Pros, we build every personal injury case with a tailored strategy, a sense of urgency, and attention to detail. In addition to economic damages, you may be entitled to noneconomic damages such as pain and suffering and emotional distress, which are losses that do not involve monetary depletion and cannot be assigned specific dollar values. Under California law, most noneconomic damages are not capped, and punitive damages may be available in cases of egregious negligence or intentional harm. Whether you were hurt in a car crash, motorcycle accident, or another serious event, our personal injury lawyers step in early, take control, and put pressure on the other side from day one.

Why Waiting Can Cost You After an Injury

When you are injured in an accident, time is not on your side. While you try to recover, insurance companies are already working to limit what they pay you. The longer you wait to take legal action, the harder it becomes to build a strong personal injury claim. Delays lead to lost evidence, missed deadlines, and pressure to accept unfair settlements.

Under California law, there is a strict two-year statute of limitations for filing a personal injury lawsuit, and if your claim involves a government entity, the deadline is much shorter—typically just six months.

At My Injury Pros, we take action immediately. We investigate your case, protect your rights, and put pressure on the other side before they can take advantage of the delay.

Why Acting Now Matters

Evidence Fades Quickly

Photos, witness statements, and accident reports lose their strength with time. Waiting makes it harder to prove your case.

Insurers Move First

They act fast to protect their bottom line. We step in early to protect yours.

Delays Create Financial Stress

Unpaid medical bills, lost wages, and recovery costs can pile up. We work to recover every dollar.

Missing Legal Deadlines Ends Cases

California has strict time limits for filing personal injury cases. Miss the window, and you lose your right to compensation.

Waiting gives them the advantage. Taking action gives you a path forward. Let’s take the next step together.

Frequently Asked Questions

The answers below provide general information and are not legal advice. Your situation may differ, and speaking with an attorney is the best way to get guidance specific to your case.

Six months, running from the date the cause of action accrues. Government Code section 911.2 sets that limit for a claim covering death, injury to the person or injury to personal property, and allows a year for any other cause of action. Section 915 controls delivery: hand the claim to the clerk, secretary or auditor of the entity, or mail it to the governing body at its principal office. For this city that is the City Clerk, and the city's own liability claim form directs completed claims to City Clerk, 2000 Main Street, P.O. Box 190, Huntington Beach, California 92648. Send it with tracking and keep the receipt. A claim presented on day 183 becomes an argument about relief; one presented in month two is just a claim.
Within 10 days, where the crash caused bodily injury, a death, or damage over $1,000 to the property of any one person. Vehicle Code section 16000 puts that duty on the driver, who may report personally or through an insurance agent, broker or legal representative, on a department form sent to the DMV office in Sacramento, naming anyone who complained of injury. The section carves out a vehicle owned or leased by, or under the direction of, a government body. This matters more here than in most cities. The Police Department states on its own Traffic Bureau page that budget constraints mean it no longer investigates or documents most non-injury traffic collisions, so after a property damage crash your own report may be the only official record that exists.
The amount changes the track, not the building. Code of Civil Procedure section 85 makes a case limited civil only where the amount in controversy is $35,000 or less, excluding attorney fees, interest and costs, and only where the relief sought is a type a limited civil case can grant. Section 86 lists a case at law of $35,000 or less as limited civil. Everything over the line is unlimited civil. Both end up in the same place. The Orange County Superior Court states that its Central Justice Center, 700 Civic Center Drive West in Santa Ana, serves all Orange County cities for limited civil, unlimited civil and small claims. No Huntington Beach case is heard in Huntington Beach, so build the travel into every date you calendar.
Civil Code section 3333.4 removes the non-economic half. In any action for damages arising out of the operation or use of a motor vehicle, an injured person cannot recover for pain, suffering, inconvenience, physical impairment, disfigurement or other nonpecuniary loss where that person owned the vehicle involved and it was uninsured, or where the driver cannot establish financial responsibility, or where the driver was convicted of driving under the influence in that crash. Medical bills and lost earnings are untouched. Subdivision (c) carries one exception: an uninsured owner hurt by a motorist who was convicted of a DUI offense from that same crash keeps the non-economic claim. The scope language is broad enough to reach a motor vehicle claim against the City of Huntington Beach as well. Confirm the policy was in force on the date before anyone talks numbers.
Vehicle Code section 17150 makes the owner of a vehicle responsible for death or injury resulting from negligent operation of that vehicle by anyone using it with the owner's permission, express or implied. Section 17151 then caps what that permission costs the owner: $15,000 for the death of or injury to one person in any one accident, $30,000 where more than one person is hurt in that accident, and $5,000 for damage to the property of others. The same section says the owner is not liable for damages imposed to punish the driver. None of that caps the driver, who answers for the whole loss. In an Orange County suit both names usually appear on the complaint, which is why the owner's insurer and the driver's insurer both get tendered the claim.
Vehicle Code section 21801 puts the first duty on the turning driver. Anyone turning left, completing a U-turn, or turning left into public or private property or an alley has to yield to vehicles approaching from the opposite direction that are close enough to be a hazard at any point during the turn, and has to keep yielding until the turn can be made with reasonable safety. Then the duty flips. Once the turning driver has yielded and signaled as the code requires, drivers approaching from the opposite direction must yield to the turning vehicle. That flip is where these cases are won and lost on a wide Huntington Beach arterial. Where the turning driver violated section 21801 and the violation caused the injury, Evidence Code section 669 presumes that driver failed to use due care.
There is a route back, and it is narrow. First comes an application to the city's board for leave to present a late claim. If that application is denied or deemed denied, Government Code section 946.6 allows a petition to the superior court for relief from section 945.4, the rule barring a suit against a public entity until a claim has been presented and acted on. The petition goes to a court that would be proper for the case itself, so for this city the Superior Court of California, County of Orange, and it has to be filed within six months after the application was denied. Relief turns on grounds the statute lists, among them mistake, inadvertence, surprise or excusable neglect, and the claimant having been a minor or incapacitated during the section 911.2 period. Apply first; the petition is not available until the application fails.
Those are two claims on two clocks. Code of Civil Procedure section 338 allows three years for an action for injuring goods or chattels, which covers the vehicle and the belongings in it. Section 335.1 allows two years for injury to the person. Closing out the repair bill with an adjuster does nothing at all to the injury clock, and the shorter clock is the one that ends the case. The amount decides the track rather than the subject matter, so a small property claim can go to small claims while the injury case proceeds as a civil action. The Orange County Superior Court states its Central Justice Center in Santa Ana serves all Orange County cities for small claims as well as limited and unlimited civil. Diary the two-year date the week the crash happens.
To increase your pain and suffering payout, you’ll need detailed medical records, therapy documentation, and a personal log of how the injury has affected your daily life. An experienced Huntington Beach injury lawyer will present that evidence to the insurance company in a way that justifies a higher settlement.
There’s no set value for pain and suffering, but it often reflects the physical and emotional toll of the injury. Factors like surgeries, chronic pain, PTSD, or loss of enjoyment in life are considered. Your lawyer will estimate its worth based on similar Huntington Beach personal injury cases and advocate for the compensation you’re owed.
